Scripture or Not

One question, repeated: can you tell a real Bible verse from a convincing fake? The whole product is a single screen shown a few hundred times, which makes it an unusually honest test of how much one screen can carry.

Why I built it

A personal project, made to work on one question: how much can a single screen carry? There is nowhere to hide in a game this small. No navigation to design, no features to add, no second screen to make up for a weak first one. Either the loop feels good within about thirty seconds or the whole thing is dead.

Approach

I designed the moment after the answer rather than the question. The question screen is plain by necessity. What decides whether someone plays another round is how the reveal lands, and specifically whether being wrong feels like a challenge or an accusation.

What I explored

  • A question screen that stays composed whether the verse is six words or sixty
  • A reveal that shows where the real text came from, so a wrong answer teaches something
  • Scoring that rewards a streak without making a single mistake feel punitive
  • Designed and built the whole thing
