Cabrow Educational Center

Cabrow is a faith-based preschool and primary school off the Mallam-Kasoa highway, built on a simple idea: roots and wings. Parents choose a school largely on feel, so the site had to carry that feeling as convincingly as it carries the facts.

The problem

A parent comparing schools wants two things that pull against each other. They want reassurance that a two-year-old will be looked after by people who like children, and they want evidence that this is a serious academic setting. Warmth on its own reads as unserious. A list of curriculum credentials reads as cold.

Approach

The school's own words were better than anything I would have written for them: more than a school, a community. So the site leads with the people and the shape of a day, then puts the GES curriculum, the seven pillars, feeding and enrichment immediately behind it. Warmth first, evidence close enough behind that it never feels like a leap of faith.

What I did

  • Structured the site across preschool and primary so parents never have to work out which part applies to their child
  • Surfaced the questions parents actually ask first: location, fees, feeding, afterschool, admissions
  • Designed the interface and built the front-end
  • Kept it light enough to load quickly on the phones parents are actually holding
